I wonder if somebody has a grudge against Rockland Boulders‘ leadoff hitter Jermel Lomack.

The Newark Bearspostgame press release misidentified him as “Jamal Lomack” on Thursday.

Yesterday, he was “Jermel Womack” in both the headline and body of the article.

When the Star-Ledger used it to run their one-sentence recap of the game in today’s paper, naturally they too misidentified him as “Jermel Womack.”

Inexplicably, the Ledger staff member assumed that “Womack” and teammate Roger Lincoln play for the Bears.

Here’s a link to the Boulders’ postgame press release for Friday’s game, which is accurate to the best of my knowledge.

I'm a child of the 1980s who never completely grew up and is still trying to figure things out. I root for the New York Mets, even though that doesn't always reflect well on my judgement, and I've been writing about them and other baseball-related subjects at since 2007.
