Mets coaches autographs from spring training

Yesterday’s mail included a pair of envelopes postmarked from West Palm Beach, Fla., which brought signed cards from two New York Mets coaches for my collection.

While hitting coach Dave Hudgens has a few minor league team set cards and he appeared on coaches cards in a few regional sets when he was part of the Oakland A’s staff, I didn’t manage to track down any of them last year. So this spring, I sent him a Signature Card.

New bullpen coach Ricky Bones has nearly 200 different baseball cards, many from the overproduction era of the early 1990s. But if I had any, I couldn’t find them last month. So I also sent Bones a Signature Card. He swapped it for a pair of cards from his playing days, which was very nice.

I had great success at ST last week. Got wigs from 24 players including cards from Wright and Santana. Definitely worth the trip.
