What you might have missed this weekend at Paul’s Random Baseball Stuff
Happy Monday. (Would you believe this is one of the last seven Mondays of 2011? Where did the year go?)
If you weren’t reading Paul’s Random Baseball Stuff over the weekend, here are some things you may have missed:
- Over the weekend, a Sirius Radio personality tried to start a rumor that Jose Reyes had signed with the Miami Marlins. At the very least, it turned out to be a bit premature. Still, I’m not going to be a happy camper if Reyes leaves for Miami without even receiving an offer from the Mets.
- I showed off some newly-acquired old baseball cards from 1963 & 1972 – I’m finding a lot more to like about the Mets’ past than the present these days…
- In other news around baseball from last week, Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos was rescued from his kidnappers in Venezuela; the Philadelphia Phillies have agreed to a deal with former Boston Red Sox closer Jonathon Papelbon and 1980s Montreal Expos pitcher Charlie Lea passed away at age 54.
