Former New York Mets coach Eddie Yost passed away this week at the age of 86. Yost, who grew up in Queens, N.Y., was the third base coach for the Mets’ 1969 World Series team.

Yost played in the major leagues for 18 seasons, primarily with the Washington Senators. He led the league in walks six times and was known as the Walking Man. He was an All-Star in 1952.

Other former Mets who’ve left us this year include Gary Carter, Dennis Bennett, Harry Parker, Hawk Taylor and Bob Myrick.
