Mets offer to buy you a ticket for your birthday

The New York Mets announced a variety of special offers, menu additions, and other stuff that we can look forward to starting next week when the 2013 season opens.

AppleOf potential interest, since we all like free stuff:

Birthdays – As a happy birthday present from the Mets, fans can receive a complimentary ticket to that day’s game to celebrate their birthday at Citi Field.  Fans can show a valid form of identification (birth certificate, driver’s license, passport, etc.) at the Citi Field Ticket Windows on their birthday to receive a ticket, subject to availability.  Offer does not apply for games on Opening Day, April 1, the Subway Series May 27-28, or after September 29.  For those celebrating their birthday when the Mets are on the road, on an off day, in the off-season or on non-eligible games, their complimentary ticket can be redeemed for games on April 3-4, 23-25 and September 13-15.

My birthday was back in February, but I can still go see the Mets play the Padres for free next week (not likely), the Dodgers later in April (tempting, depending on my schedule) or the Marlins in September (September 15th is a knit hat giveaway).

Also, the Mets Hall of Fame & Museum will be highlighting All-Star memorabilia, the 40th anniversary of the 1973 National League Championship team, and Johan Santana‘s no-hitter this year.

  1. To the Mets,

Thanks for nothing Mets! It was a tradition to celebrate my birthday which is on September 30th at Shea Stadium. Sometimes it was the last home game of the season, others times it wasn’t, but nevertheless one of my fond memories of my youth rooting for the blue and orange. I guess my loyalty doesn’t mean anything as there wont be any free tickets for me this.

    • You get to pick from the same dates that I do with my February birthday. The Mets don’t play after September 29th unless something miraculous happens.

  2. That is very classy of the Mets to do! It’s also a great way of promoting themselves. Of course I can not take advantage of this offer because I live in Minnesota. I wish the Twins or the Brewers would have a promotion like this!
